The Curious Arts Festival – run by Clare Conville of C+W – is back again, this year on the weekend of 22-24 July. Taking place in the glorious grounds of Pylewell Park, in the heart of the New Forest, the festival celebrates the arts in all their forms; from poetry, music and comedy, to cocktail workshops and snail-racing, as well as a Jabberwocky Hunt and bedtime stories for kids. The festival boasts an impressive line-up, with Conville & Walsh‘s own Clare Conville and Carrie Plitt featuring alongside other familiar names such as Carol Anne Duffy, Renée Knight and Michael Faber. Music will be provided by legendary singer-songwriter Billy Bragg, as well as several other top acts.

This year, the festival is running an event perfectly tailored for Curtis Brown Creative subscribers. Representatives from Curtis Brown’s sister agency Conville & Walsh will be running two ‘How to Get Published’ workshops featuring SJ Watson, speaker on Curtis Brown Creative’s London-based creative writing courses and author of Before I Go to Sleep and Second Life, alongside Booker-Prize winning C&W author DBC Pierre. Not only that, but Conville & Walsh reader and talent scout David Llewelyn will be running a ‘novel surgery’ workshop, and both workshops will be free to attend for all ticket-holders.

Since these two events may interest our readers, the organisers of the Curious Arts Festival are kindly offering a big discount for subscribers to this blog. Simply click here to go to the booking page, and enter the code ‘Family2016’ to get a £120 ticket for just £70.

As well as expert teaching from published authors, all our three- and six-month novel-writing courses offer dedicated modules on submitting your novel to literary agents – and include sessions on writing a synopsis and preparing a covering letter.
